Some people would say that in hypnosis, the hypnotised person holds the key to the success. There are others who say it is the hypnotherapist that determines the outcome.
Who then is correct?
The hypnotherapist is the person who has the knowledge and skills to guide in the hypnosis process. The client or patient is the one who is whose unconscious mind is going to respond to the therapist’s words. If the mind does not respond accordingly, he would not get the desirable results.
Indeed both are important for a successful outcome, but I would say the responsibility is more on the hypnotherapist’s shoulder. It is his ability to build close and trusted rapport with his client so that the client co-operates with him well that creates a real success.
