Have you heard of hypnosis?
I believe most of us have. The question is which version of hypnosis’ definition did we hear of? If you ask people what is hypnosis, most will refer it as a hypnotist on stage hypnotizing a bunch of people. He would ask the people to behave in a certain way and they simply follow with no resistance,
People have such an impression because stage hypnosis is a form of entertainment and it is propagated through advertisement and social media.
Another group of people will tell you hypnosis is a form of therapy where the person seeking treatment lies on a therapy chair and the hypnotist sits beside her and reads out a script.
Which version is correct? Stage hypnosis or therapy?
